How does a student join KIC?

What instruments do you offer at KIC?
We offer instruction in violin, viola, cello, and double bass. We also have a percussion group. All students participate in choir.
Where do you meet and when?
We meet after school four days per week at West Sound Academy in Poulsbo. Our beginner musicians come on Thursdays and Fridays only. More advanced players come on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Can my student join a summer camp?
Yes! Our musical theater summer camp is open to members of the general public. 1st-5th graders participate as campers, while 6th graders and up participate as mentors. For more information, contact us at [email protected].
How old does my student need to be to join KIC?
Generally speaking, our youngest students begin KIC in 1st grade. We sometimes make exceptions for kindergarten students who show readiness to learn an instrument.
How much does KIC cost?
KIC’s after-school music program is free. In order to fulfill our vision of providing music education to all, KIC does not charge tuition. Scholarships are available for KIC summer camp.
What are your expectations if my student joins KIC?
KIC students are expected to fully participate in KIC’s program. That means attending every day they have KIC, participating in all required performances, and practicing their instrument at home.
